Parker (DOB April, 2020) is a striking looking boy who takes time to warm up to new people. Initially he’s very shy and uncertain, but will blossom into an affectionate companion once he feels safe and secure. While he does like the ladies, Parker has a preference for male companionship.
Once he has settled in, you’ll be introduced to his playful side. He loves to zoom around the yard and hops like a kangaroo when he runs. He also jumps and prances when he’s excited. Parker enjoys playing with toys and absolutely loves jolly balls. He’s a big fan of tug and is enamored with fetching. He is overjoyed when it’s time to head outdoors for a long throwing session.
Parker thrives in a calm and stable environment, making him best suited for a tranquil household. At present, he requires an adult-only home, as he finds the exuberance of children unsettling. He must also be the only pet in the home, as he prefers not to share his people or his belongings. Parker lacks confidence and will need a dog savvy owner dedicated to helping him move beyond his current limitations. With time and patience, he may well become more comfortable in social situations and interacting with other dogs.
He is crate trained, but doesn’t require it, as he is extremely well behaved when home alone. He respects boundaries with furniture and rooms, so he’ll wait for your permission to proceed. Parker already knows a number of obedience commands (Heel; Hold; Place; Come; Sit; and Outside) and is food motivated, which will help with additional training. He has good leash manners and if his attention starts to stray, some “good boy praise” helps to sharpen up his focus. Parker also adores car rides and is especially thrilled when it includes a stop at the beach.
He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative. Parker is fostered in Orlando and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee.
