Joy

Joy was adopted by the Heim family, May 2018!

Meet Joy!! Joy is a 1 year old (DOB September 2016) spayed mantle. We were told Joy was a purebred Dane however she is smaller in stature at 93 pounds. She was turned into rescue when her owner could no longer care for her properly.

Joy led a very sheltered life before coming into rescue, spending her time outside and never experienced anything more than the yard she lived in. Her favorite part of living indoors is having her own clean and cushiony bed in her crate! She is learning more every day and her social interactions and is becoming more confident each week with the help of her Dane foster-sister.  Because of this we want Joy to have another large, playful dog in the home as that is who she looks to for support and direction.

Joy is great with other large dogs and enjoys meeting people. She has not lived with children but Joy did meet some children and did okay once she was comfortable. She loves carrying her toys around where she goes!  Joy will do best with children 10 and up.

She will need a patient family, willing to continue working with Joy through obedience training and/or ongoing exposure to the outside world.  We are also looking for a home with a large, playful dog as Joy gets many cues from a confident dog.

Joy is crate trained and housebroken as well as spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on monthly heart worm preventative.
