Fritz

UPDATED 09/03/15
Fritz has an adoption pending; he recently had eye surgery and was neutered. Once medically cleared he will be joining his new family!

Fritz is a two year old, (DOB June 2013) and soon to be neutered, male mantle Great Dane who was surrendered to the rescue after a single run in with an off-leash aggressive small dog. Fritz is one big love! He is super affectionate (sometimes assertively so) and is happiest lying down with his head in your lap. He comes from a house with multiple large and small dogs and cats, and gets along well with them. His previous owner said that he showed interest in the cats, but was never aggressive or obsessive toward them. He is currently living with a female Great Dane in his foster home, and they get along great! He is happy to take on the beta role with the more alpha female. He loves to play tug-o-war with his foster sibling, and loves chewing on antlers. He also loves chasing after bubbles, and can jump a few feet off the ground to get to one! He is house broken and crate trained, although has proven to be non-destructive when not crated. While he isn’t destructive at all, he is a collector! Throughout the day he collects pillows, blankets and shoes and leaves them in a nice pile on his doggy bed. He is well mannered and listens well, and knows basic commands. He is good on a leash and really enjoys going for walks.

Fritz would do best in a home with another large dog that likes to play rough. He loves to run and chase and wrestle. And because he is a big rough and tumble boy who doesn’t know his own size, he would probably do best in a home with no small children. He will also need a fenced in yard, at least 5-6’ tall.

Fritz is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heart worm tested (negative) and on monthly preventative.
