Earl

Adopted by the Camden’s, July 2022

Earl is a male merle (DOB January 2017)that came into rescue after his owner passed away. He was completely shut down and terrified of everything. Over time he has opened up some, but will likely never be a dog that enjoys social outings.

Earl does not trust easily and it can take time for him to warm up and bond.  Once he accepts you, he is exceptionally loving.  He enjoys snuggling and will lay in your lap.  Earl will need a quiet home without a lot of visitors coming and going.  Having someone home more frequently than not, is a plus.

He is crate trained, but is not destructive if left free to roam. Obedience is a work in progress, as he is not food motivated and is sensitive to commands.  Earl is excellent on a leash and enjoys walks.  He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and enjoys having companions to play with.  Cats are not recommended, as he will chase them.  Earl requires a yard with 6 foot fence, as he will jump anything shorter.

It is important that Earl is adopted into a home that understands and accepts him.  It is even more important that Earl bonds with his family and can be comfortable in his new home.  Therefore, potential adopters will need to visit with Earl to ensure the fit is good for everyone.  He is being fostered in New Smyrna Beach.

Earl is neutered, gastropexied, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and on a monthly HW preventative.
