Sadie (DOB April, 2024) is an independent girl with an abundance of curiosity. She is very affectionate and friendly to all, but has chosen her foster dad to be her special person. Sadie loves playing tug and splashing in puddles, especially when they are muddy. She enjoys her zoomies and frequently engages in wrestling matches with her foster siblings.
Sadie is a high energy girl who is best suited for an active family that will include her in daily activities and outings outside the home. She is of an age where she is testing boundaries and can be mouthy when excited. Her foster home is using redirection and positive reinforcement to curb these behaviors. While she is making progress, she will need a family that will continue her training in a similar manner. As she really blossoms in the company of her people, a household with someone around is best.
She is dog friendly and requires a large playmate who can help her expend energy, while tolerating her rough and tumble style of play. At present, she is not recommended with small dogs or cats. Sadie is generally well-behaved around children, though she does jump up on occasion.
She is crate trained and will sleep in there at night. Any daytime crating will result in barking when she knows there are people home. She has not been destructive and has already mastered several obedience commands. Her leash manners still need a little work and she prefers that her walks be kept short. Sadie is great in the car and loves outings to the beach. She will require a fenced yard.
Sadie is intact and will be adopted on a spay contract. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative. She is fostered in Merritt Island and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make her a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee.
