Slayton

Slayton was adopted by the Cudek Family in January 2024.

Slayton (March, 2022) is a playful boy who is completely obsessed with squeaky toys.  He loves to play keep away and is thrilled when you “chase” him and try to “steal” the squeaky in his possession.  Slayton is also a huge fan of crunchy water (ice), peanut butter stuffed Kongs and sweet potatoes (his favorite food).

He is extremely affectionate and is happiest when he has your undivided attention.  He likes being close to you and is a world class cuddler. Slayton bonds deeply to his people and is best suited to a quieter household with someone around frequently. He has been gentle with the children he has met and is recommended with older kids.

When Slayton came into rescue, he was fearful of new things, including people and other pets. His foster home has been working diligently with him on socialization and strengthening his confidence.  Slayton has made great progress and needs a dog savvy family that will be committed to building upon this foundation.

He has a moderate energy level and will need an outlet to expend it. He is fine as an only dog, but may do well with a laid back fur friend that will give him the time and space to settle in.  Slayton is trustworthy in the home, enjoys daily walks and loves car rides.  He requires a fenced yard and has no history with cats.  Slayton is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative.

He is fostered in Orlando and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you are an approved adopter interested in Slayton or have questions about her or the adoption process, please email Cherie, our adoption coordinator, at cherie@gdlcf.org.
