Howie

Howie was adopted by the fabulous van der Laan Family! July 2024

Howie (DOB March, 2020) adores his people and soaks up all the love and affection bestowed upon him.  He’s also a big snuggler and will curl up in your lap, wrapping his paws around you in a big hug.  He misses his family immensely when they’re away and greets them with joyous spins and tail wags upon their return.  Due to his attachment to his family, a home with someone around frequently is preferred.

Howie loves playing with his toys, as well as gnawing on his Benebones and bully sticks.  While his favorite activity is engaging you in tug games, he’s equally happy with a fetch session.  Howie enjoys social outings and has been friendly when meeting new people.  He tends to be a little more cautious at home though, barking at strangers initially before warming up.

He came to us as a stray, so his previous history is unknown. He has been sweet and gentle with any children he has met, so he would probably be okay with kids at least 10 years old. Howie is dog friendly and is enjoying his visits to doggy daycare.  He is making lots of fur friends and having a fantastic time.  He has no history with cats.

Howie was extremely underweight and has a bit of an obsession with food.  When left home alone, he’s been known to explore the countertops and help himself to frozen delights from the freezer.  While he’s not destructive, crating is still recommended to prevent any culinary capers and keep him safe. Howie knows his basic obedience commands, but still needs some work on his leash manners.  He absolutely adores car rides, making him the perfect companion for road trips. He will require a fenced yard.

Howie is neutered and gastropexied, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative.  He is fostered in Lithia and is ready for adoption.
