Adopted by the Stowers Family January 2023
Double Decker aka “Duke” (DOB September 2015) is a handsome Merle with a strong love for his people. He’s extremely affectionate and always wants to be close to you. If you are out of sight for too long, he will come and find you. Duke can become a little anxious when left alone too long, so having someone home frequently is best.
When Duke came into rescue, he lacked socialization. Over time, he has gained confidence and is coming out of his shell. He does well on leash in social settings, meeting new people and dogs. He now plays with toys and has a stuffed lion that he adores. Duke has even made overtures to his foster brother and they are starting to play.
Duke needs a Dane-savvy home that will build on this foundation and continue to show him how fun and exciting life can be. While he tends to be quite the couch potato, he does enjoy zooming around the yard so a fence is required. A calm, older dog friend would be welcome, but is not a necessity. Duke has no history with children or cats.
He is neutered and gastropexied, up to date on vaccines, recently completed Heartworm treatment and is on a monthly preventative. He is housebroken, crate trained and is generally okay if left unsupervised for short periods of time.
