Lou was adopted by the Then Family, December 2021
Lou is a blue male (DOB June 2019) that came into rescue after his owner began traveling for work. He had spent his days in a screened-in back porch and came inside at night to sleep in his crate. It has taken some time for Lou to decompress and adjust to living indoors.
Due to Lou’s limited exposure to life in general, he can be unsure in new situations. His foster home has worked to build his confidence and expose him to new things. Lou’s made a great deal of progress and will need a savvy dog owner to assist him in becoming even more self-assured.
Lou is very affectionate (no kisses tho!) and has done fine with the two Danes in his foster home. He is very respectful of the two dachshunds and gives them a wide berth. He is mostly okay with the cats as well. Lou is very hardwired to his crate and crates himself regularly. It’s his safe place and is necessary for his peace of mind. Lou knows basic obedience and walks well on a leash. He also requires a fenced yard.
Lou came into rescue with a widespread skin infection that cleared after multiple rounds of medications and medicated baths. He is neutered, gastropexied, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and on a monthly HW preventative.
