Xena is a 1 year old (DOB February 2014) black, female Great Dane; she is about 110 pounds. She likes people of all shapes and sizes and older children and enjoys laying quietly with a chew toy wherever you may be in the house. She is very affectionate and enjoys being loved on by her people when she isn’t chewing a bone.
She is house broken and crate trained and housebroken and is not destructive when left out for short periods once she is settled in.
She is likely best suited to a home with one other large male dog that is laid back and can withstand rough play. She doesn’t have to be the center of attention, but prefers a playmate that isn’t pushy. She would likely do best in a home with another dog but not multiple dogs. When left as the only dog in the house, she is whiney and will chew holes in her blanket, she was raised with other dogs and she is just happier with another dog pal to keep her company.
July 6, 2015: Xena has an adoption pending!
Xena is okay with cats that are indoors. She is not bossy with toys, bones or the water bowl.
Xena loves to use her nose! She enjoys running in the yard, loves to go for walks (especially when she can explore with her nose) and is generally very easy to manage on leash. An excellent passenger, she sits quietly in the backseat and is a happy traveler.
Xena is up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative and on preventative monthly, spayed and microchipped.
