Kimbee (DOB December, 2023) is an exceptionally loving girl with a big personality. She’s all about her people and is happiest when she’s right by your side. Her picture appears next to the word “Velcro” in the dictionary, so be prepared to have a constant shadow that will follow you from room to room. Kimbee also loves to snuggle and will happily curl up with you for some cuddle time or a long nap.
She’s a huge fan of toys and her favorites include plush squeakies and things that crinkle. Durable toys are also very much enjoyed and necessary to satisfy her chewing obsession. She loves when you throw toys for her to chase. Indoors she will retrieve them—outdoors not so much. Tug games, roughhousing, zooming and chasing are some of her favorite activities.
Kimbee is very smart, highly treat-motivated and already knows basic obedience. She learns quickly and enjoys training. She walks nicely on leash, absolutely loves long walks and is thrilled to accompany you on outings. When meeting new people she may be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly.
She enjoys playing with other dogs and it’s a great outlet for her energy. She can be very particular about her canine housemates though and should only be paired with large male dogs. Kimbee can also be possessive around food, so she should be fed in a separate area and feeding time should be monitored. She is currently fostered with cats and will chase if they run. While this behavior is playful, supervision is recommended so she can be redirected toward more appropriate entertainment.
Kimbee is energetic, playful and a bit mischievous. Chewing is her favorite past time, so crating is an absolute must when she is home alone. Monitoring while outside the crate is also recommended, so she doesn’t wander off when bored and get into trouble.
Crate training is still a work in progress and she will make her displeasure known, both vocally and through the destruction of bedding. She will require a household with someone home frequently to help minimize the time she spends crated. Kimbee has lived with teenagers and has no history with younger children. She will require a yard with a 6 foot fence.
Kimbee is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative. She is fostered in Apopka and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make her a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee.
