Braxton (DOB September 2023) is a bit on the smaller side, weighing in at 85#. What he lacks in stature, he more than makes up for with his huge personality. Equal parts goofy sidekick and adventure buddy, he’s always ready for fun and is happiest when he’s right by your side.
Braxton is a true toy enthusiast, with plushies and rope toys topping his list of favorites. He has also perfected the art of quietly stealing socks whenever the opportunity presents itself. When invited, he’s happy to claim a spot on the couch and has a habit of greeting his favorite people with enthusiastic hugs or gentle little nibbles. He rarely barks, but he does enjoy the occasional “argument” and usually insists on having the final say.
He has a moderate energy level and will thrive in a household that can keep him active and engaged each day. He loves walks, a good game of tug, and just about any activity involving water. Pools, ponds, lakes…if it gets him wet, he’s totally invested. He’s even been paddle boarding and would love to have a family that shares his enthusiasm for water adventures.
Braxton adores people of all ages and is always excited to make new friends. Although he’s naturally social and outgoing, new environments can make him nervous at first, so he’ll need a little time to settle in and gain confidence. He’s great with other dogs and needs a playful canine companion who will enjoy romping around with him. He also does well with cats and children, although he occasionally forgets just how big he is around the little ones.
He is well-mannered in the home and doesn’t require crating. He knows “sit” and “down,” although learning new things isn’t exactly his favorite pastime. Food doesn’t impress him much, but praise is all the motivation he needs. He has reasonably good leash manners, is cooperative for grooming, and loves going on rides in the car. A securely fenced yard is required.
Braxton is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative. He is fostered in Archer and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee.
