Bluey (DOB February, 2024) is a quiet, gentle boy who loves attention. While he adores belly rubs, ear scratches are his absolute favorite. He closes his eyes in bliss and rumbles in pleasure.
Bluey enjoys playing with toys and likes to carry his stuffed bunny around the house. He also enjoys chasing balls that are thrown and is learning to bring them back. Bluey is a comical drinker and will submerge his whole face in the bowl when quenching his thirst.
He enjoys the company of his people and will happily join them for some nightly TV watching or simply hang out in the kitchen during meal preparation. He gets a bit anxious and whiney when left alone, so he would do best in a household where someone is usually around.
Bluey needs work on socialization, as he can be a little shy and grumbly when meeting new people. He needs time to warm up and is then thrilled to have new friends that will love on him. Bluey is recommended with teenage children, is cat-friendly and mostly ignores the chickens at his foster home.
He can be dog-selective with males and would be best as an only dog or with a female companion that enjoys wrestling and zoomies. As with people, he can be shy with new fur friends, so slow introductions are best.
Bluey is crate trained and loves to learn. He already knows several obedience commands and waits for a release word to go eat and to enter/exit the house. He is exceptionally well behaved in the home and has a low/moderate energy level. Two 20-30 minute walks a day and he will nap for hours. His leash manners are coming along nicely and he requires a fenced yard.
He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative. He is fostered in Davenport and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee.
