Jax was adopted by the Peterson family.
Jax (DOB November, 2023) is a energetic boy who thoroughly enjoys playtime. He delights in spending time outdoors and likes exploring the yard. He is also an accomplished zoomer with a need for speed, which is a great help in expending his energy. Sticks are a source of endless fun and he loves chewing on bones.
Jax is thoroughly devoted to his people and enjoys spending time in their company. He is extremely affectionate and loves to snuggle up for some one-on-one time. He is also a strong leaner and expresses his love with very drooly kisses.
He is a sensitive soul who can be uncomfortable around unfamiliar people and in new environments. While he has made strides in his confidence building since coming into rescue, he will need ongoing support to help him to embrace the adventures of life. He is best suited for a patient home that understands his needs and will allow him the time and space to adjust to any newness at his own pace.
Jax is dog friendly and would appreciate having a large, sturdy companion that will be tolerant of his rough and tumble playstyle. He is not recommended with small dogs and has no history with cats. Due to his energy level and lack of awareness for both his size and surroundings, any children in the home should be teenagers and adults should be sturdy.
He is crate trained and knows a variety of obedience commands. He also loves going on walks and has excellent leash manners. Car rides are enjoyed, but he may require a little coaxing to load up. Jax loves to eat, but has a sensitivity to chicken and will need a diet without it. He is tolerant of most aspects of grooming, though heβs not a fan of nail trims. He will require a fenced yard with room to run.
Jax is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative. He is fostered in Port St John and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee.
