Adopted! Benji

Benji (DOB August, 2022) is a sweet boy with a moderate energy level.  He’s fairly mature for his age and is already over the puppy shenanigans. He is well behaved in the home and does not require crating when you leave.

When it comes to Benji with his people, he’s sweet, affectionate and wants to be close by. He barks and prances around in excitement when you arrive home and displays the same behavior when people come to visit.  He can sometimes be shy around new things, but quickly overcomes it with a bit of reassurance. While Benji is not fostered with children, he has been gentle and kind to the ones he has met.

He is very dog friendly and is fostered with a young pup.  They play on and off throughout the day and romp together in the yard. Benji is obviously much larger, but he is mindful of the pup’s size, backing off immediately when needed. He loves to spend time outdoors zooming around the yard, as it’s one of his favorite forms of exercise. His bouts of playfulness can be frequent, but are tempered with long naps. Benji loves toys, going on walks and rides in the car.

He is crate trained, knows his obedience commands and has reasonably good leash manners on a gentle leader. He does pull a little when he spots another dog on walks, as he’s excited to say hello. Benji is trained to go lay in his crate while his foster family is eating dinner at night. He also understands the word “No” and immediately stops whatever action is in progress.  He has no history with cats and requires a fenced yard.  Benji is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative.

Benji is fostered in St. Augustine and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee.
