Sophia was adopted by the Mealing family, August 2022
Sophia is a 2 year old (DOB May, 2020) black female that enjoys being close to her humans. She loves giving kisses and is very vocal about her wants and needs. Her favorite activity is being a couch potato, though she does look forward to her daily walks. Sophia loves the company of children and has a calm nature, which would likely make her a wonderful family dog. She enjoys meeting new people, especially if they are willing to shower her with affection.
While she does play well with dogs of all sizes, she does not tolerate dominant dogs. Sophia would prefer to be the only dog in the home, though she may be okay with a submissive and calm companion. She is also cat friendly.
Sophia is crate trained, but does not require crating as she is well behaved in the home. She identifies strongly with her people and feels more settled in their presence. In light of this, it’s best if someone is around more frequently than not. Sophia knows some basic obedience, but can use reinforcement on her commands. Since she’s very food motivated, further training should be relatively easy.
Sophia has been spayed, gastropexied, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. She is heartworm negative and on a monthly preventative.
