Gracey

Adopted by the Ely-Smith Family, September 2022

Gracey is an 11 year old (December, 2010) black female.  Despite her years, she is still an active girl that enjoys romps around the yard and lives for her daily walks around the neighborhood.  She uses a doggy door with ease and frequently visits the yard to soak up the sun and explore the grounds.  Due to her love of the outdoors and her need to wander, a fenced yard is required.

Gracey is a sweet girl that loves to cuddle up and get close to you.  She also likes to lay her head in your lap, her version of a hug.  Gracey has an inquisitive nature and needs to oversee whatever activity you are involved with.  Due to her need for closeness and companionship, having some around more frequently is a plus.  She is good with children, but because of her age, any kids in the home should be at least 10 years old.

She was previously an only dog, but has interacted well with the adult Danes she has been fostered with.  Gracey does have some hind end weakness, so she’s not suited for a young active dog that will jump on her.  She has a high prey drive and is not good with small dogs and cats.

Gracey is crate trained, but does not require crating as she is not destructive in the home.  She learns quickly what’s expected of her and is very eager to please.  Gracey is not a fan of car rides and tends to get anxious, so short trips are best.

She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and has had a recent dental. She is on a monthly heartworm preventative and a daily joint supplement.
