Oreo

Oreo has been adopted by the Lane Family, August 2021

Oreo is a 4 year old (DOB January, 2017) merle female that came into rescue due to
allergies suffered by a child in the home. Oreo is sweet, affectionate and very much a
velcro Dane. She will follow you from room to room and nudge you for love and pets.
Oreo loves her crate and knows basic obedience. She adores food and gets very
excited during mealtime prep. Oreo is great with dogs of all sizes and gets along well
with the dogs and cats in her foster home. She lived previously with another dog, a
donkey and chickens. She also enjoyed visiting with the neighboring miniature horses
and would run the fence line with them.

Oreo is a calm, mellow girl indoors, but really loves to race around the yard with the
Danes in her foster home. She will require a fenced yard with room to run and another
large dog for companionship and exercise. Oreo lived with kids previously and would
likely do well with children that are at least 5 years old.

Oreo wasn’t well socialized outside the home, so she is lacking in confidence and can
be a little fearful in new situations. Her foster home is currently working with her on
building confidence and leash training. Oreo is making great progress and is becoming
more self-assured every day. When she joins her adoptive home, she will be going
through yet another transition. Oreo will need her new family to be patient and
understanding as she settles in and learns a new routine.

Oreo is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm
preventative.
