Malia

Malia was adopted by the Smith family, August 2021

Malia is a 3 year old Harlequin with a bold and vibrant personality.  She is
definitely NOT a velcro Dane and tends to be a little more independent.
She will come to her people for frequent love and pets, but since there is so
much to see and do in life, she’s quickly off to explore the next exciting
thing.
Malia runs to every place she goes in the home, as she doesn’t want to
miss a thing.  She’s got spunky attitude and is very opinionated.  She loves
to express said opinions for the whole world to hear.  Malia has a strong
love of toys and always has several nearby. She enjoys playing tug and
will occasionally engage in a game of fetch.
Her zest for life also extends to the great outdoors. She loves going on
outings to visit new places and meet new people.  She even likes going to
the vet! Malia rides well in the car and does great on a leash. She
absolutely hates being left behind!
She loves the company of other dogs and wholeheartedly believes “the
more the merrier.”  Malia lived previously with several Great Danes and is
currently being fostered in a similar situation.  While she does coexist well
with somewhat smaller dogs, she identifies strongly with other Danes and
her indoor play can be a bit noisy and rough.  Her ideal home would have
at least another playful Dane or dog of a similar size.  Due to her dazzling,
yet bossy personality, she will need a home where the other dogs are laid
back and tolerant.
Malia currently lives with two cats and while she tends to ignore them, she
will occasionally give the one that teases, a half-hearted chase.  She has
no history with children, but would likely do well with kids over the age of
10.  Malia is crate trained and knows basic obedience.
She has been spayed, gastropexied, microchipped and is up to date on her
vaccines.  She is also on a monthly heartworm preventative.
