Gus

Adopted by the Brooks family, October 2021

Gus is a neutered black male, DOB March 2019 who came into rescue after his owner passed away. Unfortunately we were unable to get any background information on Gus so what we know is what we have observed while Gus has been in rescue.

His foster home says Gus such a good boy and a total snuggle buddy. Although shy and timid at first, once he warms up to you and will be your constant shadow. The epitome of a Velcro dog! He’s learning to load up in the car and when he finally does, he loves going for rides, with his face out of the window the whole time.

He has excellent manners – no counter surfing, treasure hunting in the trash can, or accidents in the house. He loves going for walks and is a perfect gentleman on the leash. He gets along great with other dogs, big or small, and loves the attention of the little girls that live in the neighborhood. He loves his crate and will go in whenever he’s ready for bed. Gus does have some issues with having his feet and ears touched – he does not like either messed with so nail trims are a chore. Because of the lack of history and his sensitive toes and ears, we will consider homes with older children that understand the importance of respecting a dog’s limits.

Gus is up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative and on a monthly preventative.
