Rufus was adopted by the Brantley Family, March 2020Rufus is a 4 year old (DOB March 2015) fawn male Dane. Rufus came into rescue when his owner had a change in work and family and wasn’t home enough for him. He is housebroken, crate trained and has not been destructive in the home when left alone. He is an easy-going boy who is happy to nap on a dog bed or chew on a bone. He is not high energy but does enjoy walks and loves to have a yard to run around in. Rufus is very interested in chasing squirrels while outside but is far from quick so they remain safe! He enjoys a game of chase with the other larger dogs in his foster home, but could likely also do well as an only dog with plenty of attention from his people. Inside the home he is fine with cats, small and large dogs, and even polite around small pet cages.
Rufus is slow with change so his forever family will need to give him a couple of weeks to settle in and be comfortable. They will also need a lot of drool rags as he is a little more slobbery than most Danes!
Rufus is neutered and gastropexied, up to date on vaccines, tested negative for heartworm, on a monthly heartworm preventative and microchipped.
