Adopted by the Page Family, March 2020
Lexi is an approximately seven years old (January 2013) spayed female. She was found as a stray and picked up by a county shelter. We were contacted about her as they had deemed her to unhealthy to spay or provide much needed veterinary care. Once she came into rescue we did a full work up and her bloodwork was good and she was spayed. She also had a dental with several extractions and had some large masses removed. Lexi very much needed care and she got it!
Lexis is good with other calm dogs; she likes her personal space to be respected. She loves napping in the sun, chewing on a bone/antler occasionally and snuggling with stuffed toys. She walks gently on a leash. We are still treating her for a persistent UTI but hope that this will clear up with the second round of medication.
We don’t know her history since she was found as a stray, however she is very anti-crate. She seems to have a fear or high anxiety about being crated but no other issues that we have seen. Lexi is otherwise very laid-back and calm most of the time. She does not chew destructively on furniture, shoes, toys or anything inside the house. Lexi really, really likes her people and would love someone just to be at home with her most of the day to be with; that would make this lady very happy. Lexi still likes to trot around the yard after her foster sister occasionally but she does not require a lot of exercise and is not a high energy pup.
We do not know how she would be around cats, small dogs or small children as she has no exposure while in rescue.
Lexi is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative and on a monthly preventative.
