June 2019 – Izzy joined the Distler family
Izzy (DOB ~May 2017) is a harlequin female, about 115 pounds; she came into rescue as she was too much activity for the family.
Izzy has a lot of energy and is super playful. She is being fostered with a very calm male mastiff and if play get to ramped up she can get a little rough with him. For this reason she would likely be best as a single dog or a mellow male dog. Izzy is definitely always the boss!
A six foot fence is required as she can jump a 4 foot fence. Her foster home says prefers her crate to the couch but has been known to crash on the couch on occasion.
She was raised in a home with children and is good with kids. She needs some reinforcement on manners as she is a counter surfer and will steal food if it is an out there for the taking!
She is not best suited for small dogs or cats due to her playful, young nature. If she is in a home with a cat she does need supervision as she will chase for fun (her fun, not the cats!).
Izzy will do best as the only dog in the home or with a calmer male dog.
She is being fostered in Debary/Volusia County.
Izzy is housebroken, spayed, up to date on vaccines microchipped, heartworm tested negative and on a monthly prevention.
