5/5/17: WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANY MORE APPLICATIONS FOR HOLLIS. We have received half a dozen applications and his foster home is considering the best home for Hollis.
Hollis is a 2 year old Harlequin male Dane new to rescue weighing 125 pounds. He was surrendered to GDLCF when his owner could no longer properly care for him.
Hollis has done well while in rescue proving himself to be obedient, trustworthy, and not destructive. He is good on leash, loves his daily walks, and has been nice at meeting people and other dogs when in public.
Prior to rescue Hollis lived with children, other dogs, and a cat. He gets along good with the senior female Dane in his foster home.
Hollis is affectionate and a bit of a Velcro Dane with his foster family. We are working on him being more respectful of personal space but this is a boy that wants to be near his people…kinda just who he is. As with any 2 year old Dane, he needs a daily outlet to burn off energy including walks and play time. He loves playing fetch.
He came into rescue with a skin infection and some internal parasites from fleas but is responding well to treatment. He is in good overall health.
Hollis is micro-chipped, current on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworms and is on monthly heartworm preventative. He is house trained and crate trained.
