Duncan

Duncan adopted October 2017

Duncan is a sweet 1 year old (DOB June 2016) Fawn male. Duncan came from a home where he was loved by children and he does as well as a Dane puppy can be expected to do around small humans. He has lots of puppy energy and needs to be reminded of his size, but he adores kids and is trying very hard to learn that he has to stay calm. Due to his energy level and exuberance, he would likely be too rough around very young children and toddlers. Duncan does well in his crate and has a very soft mouth when taking treats or toys. He can be mildly destructive when left out alone, but for his age, he does very well and would likely be a candidate for free-roam as he matures. He is housebroken and generally quiet both indoors and out.
Duncan knows basic obedience commands and would benefit from structured obedience classes. We are working on appropriate leash manners and greeting other dogs. He takes a little while to warm up to people and can be a little timid at first. Duncan has not shown any aggression toward other dogs of either sex, and aside from his clumsy puppy size, has been okay around smaller dogs and other small animals.
Duncan loves to run outside in the yard and comes when he is called. He can be a little stubborn at times, but he mainly aims to please you. Duncan loves to snuggle and would love a family of his own.
