Diesel is an almost 10 month old (DOB April 2014) black male with natural ears. He was turned into rescue due to his activity level and the family recognized he needed more time and attention than they could give.
He is a typically young Dane and activity and loves to play and needs a routine outlet for all the energy he has. He is a little unsure/jumpy of new situations or sounds so his foster home is working on exposing him to more and new situations.
He is crate trained and housebroken and does need continued work on manners. He is learning but it will take time and lots of repetition. He is not great on leash and does pull quite a bit so he needs someone that can devote some time to training/obedience. Other areas we are working on is not allowing him to jump up on people and ensuing he is not putting his paws on the countertops!
Overall he is good with children however he is an active giant breed dog so he needs supervision with children – he will knock a child over and his tail never stops wagging! He has also not lived with cats so that is an unknown. There is a toy-sized dog in his foster home that he does okay with but needs supervision when they are playing. Ideally Diesel would have a larger sized playful female in his new home.
Currently Diesel is about 110 pounds. Diesel will be neutered before adoption; he is currently up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested (negative) and on heartworm preventative.
