Steele (DOB February 2021) is a 5-year-old who embraces life with every fiber of his being. He’s incredibly affectionate and will gently nudge you for pets. During quieter moments, he’s all about snuggles and will rest his big head right on your chest like he belongs there…because in his mind he absolutely does!
He thrives on being the center of attention and brings a fun, energetic presence to the home. Toys are a big deal for him and he’s especially fond of plushies and rubber chews. He’s also a huge fan of zoomies, walks around the neighborhood and has enough of a playful streak to keep things entertaining.
Steele can be a bit of a dirt enthusiast and has been known to show off his mad excavation skills. He’ll need a securely fenced yard with plenty of space to explore.
He has lived with children previously and loves meeting new people. He can be a bit exuberant at times, but he settles down nicely with calm guidance. Steele would do best in a home where someone is around often, as he truly thrives on companionship and being part of the household activities.
He enjoys having dog friends and plays with gusto, though he does have a habit of grabbing collars and dragging his playmates around. He’ll need another large fur friend in the home for companionship and to share in the fun. Steele is also cat friendly and has done well sharing space with the kitties in his foster home.
Though Steele is well-behaved and doesn’t require crating, he considers the crate his happy place for quiet time and napping. He hasn’t shown interest in getting on furniture and is cooperative with basic grooming.
His leash manners are reasonably good, but he can become distracted by his surroundings. A gentle verbal reminder is all he needs to regain his focus. Car rides are one of his favorite adventures, though he’s convinced he should be the one driving. He will need to be safely restrained on road trips for everyone’s piece of mind.
Steele is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative. He is fostered in Apopka and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee.
