Bo (DOB March 2023) is an affectionate boy with an outgoing personality. He thrives on being close to his people and truly wants to be part of everything his family does. Whether it’s relaxing at home, joining in on social outings or simply going for a ride in the car, Bo is happiest when he’s included.
He has plenty of energy and is always up for a game of fetch or tug. A big fan of toys, he loves plushies and balls equally. Running and chasing with canine friends is one of his favorite pastimes; therefore, he requires another large, playful dog in the home to help burn off energy. Due to his size and enthusiastic play style, he is not suited for a household with small or medium-sized dogs. He is, however, cat-friendly and ignores the chickens in his foster home.
Despite his playful side, Bo has a sweet, well-rounded temperament. He’s social, enjoys meeting new people, and is wonderful with very young children. He would thrive in an active family where someone is around regularly to provide the companionship he craves.
Bo loves his crate and often chooses to sleep in it at night. If he’s home alone, he should be crated, as his mischievous side can emerge if he’s unsupervised. He has some basic obedience skills and walks nicely on a Gentle Leader. He is good for all aspects of grooming and does very well with handling. Bo will need a securely fenced yard with a 6-foot fence.
He has struggled with some skin allergies, which are now under control on a maintenance dose of Apoquel (1.5 tabs every 4 days) and fish oil. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative.
He is fostered in Tampa and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Bo or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator, cherie@gdlcf.org.
