Available! Hurley

Hurley (January, 2020) adores his people and is happiest when he’s being loved on.  He enjoys snuggling up on the couch and tends to be a major bed hog when he snoozes with you.  Naps and cuddle time are usually brief though, as Hurley is a playful spirit with boundless energy.  He has a rowdy play style that includes plenty of running and jumping.  He loves mixing it up with his Dane foster sisters and episodes of boisterous wrestling and bitey face occur throughout the day.  During his quieter moments, he’ll settle in and entertain himself with one of his favorite plush toys.

Hurley tends to feed off the energy in the room, so a calmer home would be ideal for him.  He bonds strongly with his family, so having someone around more frequently is a plus.  A large, playful dog buddy in the home is preferred, as it will provide companionship as well as an outlet for his energy.  While Hurley loves to roughhouse, he is generally mindful of the smaller dogs in the home and is cat friendly.  Any children in the household should be at least 7 years old, as he’s blissfully unaware of his size and surroundings.

He is crate trained and will spend time in there by choice.  Crating is not required though, as he is well-behaved when left home alone.  He has decent leash manners and enjoys walks.  A 6 foot fence is an absolute must, as he can jump anything lower.  Hurley loves to eat and is extremely fond of treats.  He tends to inhale his food, so a slow feeder is recommended.  He is also a big fan of ice cubes.

He is fostered in Titusville and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Hurley or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator at cherie@gdlcf.org.
