AVAILABLE! Chase

Chase (DOB December, 2021) is a handsome boy who is happiest when he’s the center of attention. He truly believes the world revolves around him and people exist solely to love and pamper him. He returns your love 110% with lots of snuggles and hugs. Chase is always interested in the goings-on around the home and is eager to help you with your daily tasks. He truly believes that things run smoother with the assistance of a Great Dane and will render his expertise, whether it’s wanted or not. As he craves companionship and thrives on human interaction, he will require a home with someone generally around.

Chase has a moderate energy level and is a balanced mix of playtime and long naps. He loves rubber squeaky toys and balls of any kind, as well as bully sticks and cow cheeks. He’s also an excellent fetcher and enjoys a rousing game of tug. Chase is a champion zoomer and enjoys spending time outdoors. He likes to patrol the property and is an expert at keeping his loved ones safe from marauding reptiles, dastardly squirrels and cranky feathered fiends. He requires a fenced yard with plenty of room to run.

Social and confident, he’s always ready to be your sidekick on new adventures. He’s especially over the moon when it also involves making new friends that give him love. Unfortunately, Chase is not as successful making fur friends and is best as the only pet in the home.

He still struggles a bit with what constitutes appropriate playthings and occasionally zooms through the house clutching a throw pillow or dragging a bath mat. Crating is recommended when he’s home alone until he’s a little more mature. Chase knows some basic obedience, takes treats politely with a soft mouth and has good leash manners. He is not interested in climbing on furniture and prefers to lounge on raised dog beds. He is a great copilot in the vehicle, but can be hesitant to load up and generally needs assistance.

Chase isn’t always aware of his size and can move through the house like a freight train. He’s also a big leaner and can put every pound of bodyweight into it. He will need sturdy humans in his home and any children should be teenagers. Chase is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative.

He is fostered in St. Cloud and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you are an approved adopter interested in Chase or have questions about him or the adoption process, please email Cherie, our adoption coordinator, at cherie@gdlcf.org.
