June 2022, Adopted by the Schmidt Family
Pyper (DOB May 2013) is a sweet older gal who proves some things really do get better with
age. At 8 years young, she has enough spunk to keep life silly and enough experience to know naps and cuddles are the best way to spend most of every day. She loves all things extra plush or tasty!
Pyper’s house manners are near perfection and while she would love to snuggle with her humans on the bed or couch, she abides by boundaries without complaint. She gets concerned when her people are out of sight and would love a family who has extra time to spoil her. She warms up quickly to new visitors and is gentle when meeting children.
Her ideal home though, would be a fairly quiet one without a lot of coming and going. Pyper is not overly comfortable with social outings and much prefers to be a homebody. She also is limited in her walking distance and isn’t great on leash. What she does take great pleasure in, is meandering around the yard enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. For this reason, she will require a fenced yard. Pyper gets along with calm dogs of all sizes and both sexes, but would appreciate a more laid back roommate. She is not phased by cats, pocket pets or wildlife.
Like most Danes entering their golden years, Pyper is on a couple medications and a joint supplement to keep her comfortable and enjoying life. She may need some loading assistance into tall vehicles and would do best in a home with minimal steps. Pyper also has a longstanding aversion to walking on wood/faux wood floors. Her foster home is working with her to overcome this, but a whole house of it may prove challenging. Pyper is spayed, up to date on vaccines, Heartworm tested and on a monthly preventative and microchipped.
